29/09: My First Post - About Me

I would like to let you know a little about myself and how I got started selling on ebay. My husband & I were hitting some rough times, he became totally disabled from a back injury & was unable to work. I was the only one working & he was on disability but our income fell short for making our house payment plus all our bills. I was thinking one night of how I could find another income. working a night job? heck no..I was just praying for some guidence from up above to make things work out, no free ride, I would work hard, I just needed the idea. The next day my sister was telling me about ebay & I was sceptical but decided to try it. She showed me how to set things up and list items etc...then was the challenge to find something to sell..My first item was a pair of Hot Pink Cowboy boots I had in my closet from my line dancing days. I decided to try them and bam! My first item sold & I was excited. I tried all kinds of things and just seemed to stay with the Cowboy boots found at Estate sales etc. and it has been great. I have been doing this since 2002 and haven't stopped. It has bailed us out of some hard times and of course the hard times keep coming, we are now taking care of our four grandchildren during some rough times for the parents and really need all the help we can get so this little business helps out alot, even with all the ups and downs there is always hope. I remember wanting to get my first feedback and how excited I was to get my first 10, Now my feedback is over 3400 entries..My husband has a background in purchasing and inventory control and is very organized so he has helped me tremendously in ideas to make things go smoother. He helped me get into shipping pickup through online requests, getting postage printed out at home, he setup to order boxes & packing material online and I'm really getting things streamlined thanks to him. I'm probably as big as I can get right now but I am looking for different ideas and items to sell. Thank you for taking time to read about us and hopefully you will be assured that we are honest hard working people and are proud of what we do. Happy shopping!...Karen
